So, about me…
Hi. I’m Pepper. I’m a pet bed model, when I have time in my very busy life.
I live with a real-life Grandin Road family and have two amazing little girls to play with (which is way better than my previous shelter life). My human mom is a designer! She wears cute clothes and she made our house look cute too! I think I was born to live with style!
My modeling work is like this: I have to look enthusiastic, or excited, or thrilled, depending on the product. Which is easy! I love everything! I mostly do the pet bed shoots, but if someone gives us a good script for a pet gate video, I might consider it.
The rest of the time, while the crew is setting up my scenes, I am sniffing around all the Grandin Road products designed for “pets” (it’s an industry term).
So when they asked me to share what I know in this blog, to make sure your “pets” are as happy as I am in my own Grandin Road home, I leapt at the chance. Literally!
Here we go! Because the holidays are coming, I want to talk about wonderful pet gifts!
#1 TIP: Pet Beds are the gifts that say you super love us!
Like any top model, I don’t mind sleeping on a nice car seat traveling to a photo location. Or napping on a kitchen floor while catering’s trying to set up.
As any model will also tell you, though, good, restful sleep equals beauty and health, and career longevity. So I am all about a proper, comfortable, luxuriously casual Grandin Road pet bed, whether it’s a classic Cuddle Lounge style or a bright snug-it-up Buttercup bed!
Grandin Road pet beds are specially designed to be comfortable, with lots of snuggly padding and softness. You crawl in there and it’s zzzz time! But guess what? All the beds are also designed to help me feel more secure, too. See those soft padded sides on our beds? They act like bolsters or soft low walls and so they make me feel safe, like I can let down my guard and really rest. I feel calmer.
Want to go big? I love the Grandin Road Sofa Dog Bed, doggily speaking! Because it looks like a fabulous classy human sofa, but it is sized for us. This is style!
Then, there’s the Donut Pet Bed! It’s so soft and padded. It’s this oval-shaped ring bed, and it comes in colors to make any dog look even cuter. Me, I like the Berry-colored bed. It’s mine, all mine. I don’t mean that in a selfish way. But it’s mine, all mine. I like to flop down and chill out after a long day of being this photogenic! Look!
Oh, and Grandin Road also has a Buttercup Pet Bed (a convertible snuggler bed) for smaller dogs. For “cats” too, I guess, like my kitty pal Baby Babar whose mom calls him “the little prince.” So the Buttercup snugs into a cozy cup-shaped bed, like a gathered flower, for sleeping! Or it goes flat for sprawling all, or using in your travel crate. Machine washable, too, if you’re a drooler! And hey, we’ve all been there!
Are your pals bigger? Back to those big awesome Rectangle Pet Loungers and the Cuddle Lounge Pet Beds. They come in classic, elegant plaid fabrics. So high-end, so Lab, right?
Traveling a lot? Think about an SUV Luxury Pet Mat or Back Seat Cover or Single Pet Seat Cover. They’re comfy and help keep the car clean; we’ve all seen humans get overexcited about the littlest things like muddy paws, or bringing back something you found in the park and maybe should have left there.
#2 TIP: Bone pillows! Stockings! (Get me all the stuff!)
So Grandin Road has a new collection of dog pillow toys for Christmas. I saw them and I just sort of stiffened up and just, barked! It just happened! I never do that! That’s how much I like them, though! They’re well-made, very tastefully designed, too.
The Holiday Bone Pillows are fun because you can toss them around, or sleep with your head on them, and everyone will love you even more for being so super adorable. They come in paw prints or a plaid or a jolly red one and can be monogrammed with your name too.
This brings me to a Big Important Thing: how special it makes any “pet” feel to have his or her name monogrammed onto a pet bed or a pillow or a Christmas stocking. I see it and it’s like, mine, mine, mine!
I mentioned Christmas pet stockings. Human friends, do not forget to order us Grandin Road Holidays Paws Stockings to hold our many new treats! Thank you in advance!
Pepper’s Tip: Look sad, don’t wag, until you get your very own holiday stocking. It’s perfect for sharing Christmas joy, and for hiding something shaped like a squirrel.
#3 TIP: Dog artwork makes home feel so much more “me”
Grandin Road has a dog artwork gallery for loving families! They have fantastic framed, dog-themed artwork. This includes art you can personalize by breed and name! They also have dog statues, like Brutus the Dog in cast iron, which is amazing for the patio or even indoors. They have a Scottie statue, too!
Pepper’s Tip: Dog-themed art is always a way to make home feel more fun, whimsical and creative! Here’s my own idea: I think any updated patio or porch should have about ten dog statues, really. Maybe twenty, even. But at least one, for sure. Grandin Road has it all!
Grandin Road also has a leash-hanging hook sculpted like a dog’s tail! It’s basically modern art, but way better, because you can hang a hat or a leash on it.
Cool, right?
#4 TIP: Dog art door mats are more fun!
Talk about feeling good. A dog-theme door mat is dog art, but you can walk on it! Like surfing dogs and skiing dog and dogs with sunglasses and camping dog pictures. It is bright and playful and the little girls in my family love them. The neighbors are all “where can we get one?!”
A front door mat with a great fun dog picture on it makes me feel really good when I come home from a long walk and see it. My family loves me, is what I think when I see mine! (A monogram mat with a big “P” for Pepper would work, too! Hint, hint!) It’s useful, too!
#5 TIP: The stunning Grandin Road Pet Feeder Station (for me, and for you)
This is like the super-gift we all talk about at the dog park.
It has the convenience of food, leash, and toy storage, plus a feeding station, all in one stylish, compact space. It’s a storage cabinet too, made with a sturdy blend of solid mahogany and engineered woods. Mahogany! How can you not get this for me? It even comes in two colors!
Well, it’s time for my walk. But I hope I’ve helped you make some good decisions about what to get your “pets” for the holidays.
Remember, you can never possibly spend too much on us, because of our unconditional love. Plus, we know all of your secrets. (Two Pugs named Ruby and Hank told me to say that.)
Happy shopping, and Merry Christmas!
This blog is absolutely adorable. I love you, Pepper! I hope you write many more blogs!
