HOW SANTA AND HIS CREW COME TO LIFE
Prepare the mantel for our new Fa La La Christmas Figures, exclusively from Grandin Road. Every stage in their creation-from sculpting to painting to trimming them out-is done carefully by hand, so each figure is unique. Take a closer look at the process.
Each figure begins as an illustration. Designers draw from their own imagination; they build in form and apply a color palette. The result is the first snapshot of each Fa La La Figurine.
Illustrations are used to hand-mold each figure from resin. Wire is embedded in delicate areas to strengthen and add shape. Artists then hand-sculpt the textures and details that bring each character to life—this can take up to a month.
This first sculpt results in a mold from which all figures will be made. Craftsmen make the mold from specially formulated silicones to ensure every detail, on every figure, is replicated-and a mold is used to make only several figures before it is replaced.
Individual figures are then hand painted by a team of skilled artists, who use intricate techniques to animate each face and body. As a result, no two characters are exactly alike—and each Jolly Santa, elf, or moose is unique.
Scarves are dyed—and threads, hand-selected—to match colors in original illustrations. We’ve added faux fur trim and hand-painted beading. Morton the Moose’s leatherette saddle is even stitched by hand.

I’ve got one from last year and kept him out ALL year! Now I’m about to buy another! Thanks, artisans, you got TALENT, yes, you DO!
How do I get one of these FaLaLa characters. Has anyone returned one that is not broken?
Hi Debbie – Unfortunately we are out of stock on these gems. They will not be returning in time for Christmas. However, there is a great chance they’ll be returning next year, so start checking the website again come October…
